Ending Your Employment

Your employment with the Writing Center will end in one of three ways: your own voluntary resignation, your termination upon graduation, or an involuntary termination.

πŸ‘‹ Voluntary Resignation

The Office of Student Employment outlines steps you should take to end your employment at the Writing Center, including notifying Katie Brown and sending a β€œrecommended” letter of resignation, identifying your last active day of employment.

πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ“ Terminations Upon Graduation

As per the Student Employment website, we are responsible for terminating any student employee upon your graduation. You need not send us a resignation letter if your employment with us will end due to graduation. And congratulations on your graduation!

πŸ’’ Involuntary Termination

If after both
  • working with administrators to make an individualized performance improvement plan for continued work at the Writing Center
you fail to make necessary and agreed-upon changes to the appropriate extent, then you risk involuntary termination of employment.
If you commit an egregious offense in violation of policy, we reserve the right to terminate your employment immediately.
