Writing Groups are opportunities for writers with specific writing interests and/or of specific identities to gather together and support one another. The Writing Center hosts a number of writing groups throughout each quarter. Writing Group facilitators support writers’ growth, needs, and interests by facilitating each meeting and offering feedback on members’ writing, focused writing time, and/or writing-related resources or presentations. Facilitators also plan and host open mic events or other socials for their writing group.

👨🏻🏫 COE Graduate Writing Group
The College of Education Graduate Writing Group offers a writing community and support to doctoral students in the College of Education. The group is a collaboration between the Writing Center and the COE Doctoral Program with a co-facilitator from each unit. This writing group typically meets in a hybrid modality 3-4 times per quarter on Saturdays depending upon facilitators’ availability.
📓 Faculty Writing Community
Facilitated by faculty and staff writers, the Faculty Writing Community offers accountability and support to faculty through weekly writing sessions over Zoom. Faculty writers join to work on writing projects for publication, conferences, coursework, or personal writing. This writing group offers dedicated writing time for members as well as check-ins to share progress, challenges, and accomplishments. The Faculty Writing Community is sponsored by the DePaul Writing Center and facilitated by Associate Director Erin Herrmann.
