π Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Workshops & Digital Resources Coordinator, the Workshops Student Leader develops workshop materials, facilitates workshops, and assists in the support and mentorship of the Workshops team members. The Writing Center Workshops team creates and facilitates research-based, interactive workshops on a variety of writing topics for classes and groups across the DePaul community.
β¨ Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with support and mentorship of Workshops team members (20%)
- Collaborate with the Workshops & Digital Resources Coordinator to plan & lead weekly team meetings
- Research and present learning/facilitation best practices to Workshops team members
- Offer feedback to Workshops team members as they facilitate workshops & complete research projects
Develop workshop materials (45%)
- Create/revise original lesson plans and materials for requested workshops
- Organize completed workshop materials and assemble facilitator folders
Facilitate interactive workshops in a variety of classes across DePaul (30%)
Perform other leadership duties as assigned by the Workshops & Digital Resources Coordinator (5%)
π Position Qualifications
- Strong public speaking skills
- Interactive presentation/facilitation experience preferred, but not required
- Interest in education theory and practice
