Under the supervision of and in collaboration with the Outreach Coordinator Jen Finstrom, the Outreach Events Student Leader maintains university & community partnerships, plans & executes events, and co-leads the Outreach Team. The Outreach team celebrates and promotes awareness and appreciation of peer tutoring, writing, reading, thinking—and the freedom to engage in those pursuits—through such events as Banned Books Week, National Day on Writing, National Poetry Month, International Writing Centers Week, and the DePaul Peer Tutor & Mentor Summit.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate to plan, coordinate, and attend large & small scale partnered events based on determined goals (50%)
  • Communicate with university/community partners to understand their needs
  • Develop agenda, activities, budget, staffing, etc. for events according to their timeline
  • Delegate and organize team involvement in event planning and execution
Manage and support Outreach team members (45%)
  • Collaborate with the Outreach Coordinator to plan & lead weekly team meetings
  • Oversee specific event-based committees to provide direction and guidance
  • Check in individually with team members to offer feedback and answer questions
  • Coordinate and update team members’ schedules in WCOnline
Perform other team leadership duties as assigned by the Outreach Coordinator (5%)
